Datamars acquires major portion of Tru-Test

North Ridge investee, Tru-Test Corporation, has completed the sale of a major portion of its business to Swiss-based Datamars. Tru-Test is a global leader in agri-technology products offering tools for advanced livestock management, including electric fencing, weighing and identification systems and portable milk metering solutions.

DATAMARS ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF TRU-TEST ACQUISITION 

Tru-Test Corp has sold a major portion of its business to Switzerland-based Datamars for NZ$147.9 million. Included in the sale were the company's weighing, electronic identification, contract manufacturing, electric fencing and milk metering operations. All intellectual property - including the Tru-Test name - form part of the deal.

​The sale was based on outcomes from the company's highly successful profit improvement programme which delivered efficiencies across manufacturing and overheads, and SKU rationalisation.

​Tru-Test's dairy division will continue to operate as a standalone business, including the dairy automation systems, milk cooling and farm holding tank businesses and assets.
